Harper Eye Care is committed to being active and supportive in the Kernersville Community and the optometry industry.  The Harpers believe that business has a responsibility to support the citizens that support their business.  By “Keeping It Local,” Harper Eye Care donates a portion of all contact lens and eye glasses sales back into the Kernersville Community.

Many local agencies are supported through annual contributions and donations.  One agency partnered closely with is the Kernersville Lions Club.  Harper Eye Care donates on average 1 eye exam or pair of glasses each week for adults and youth in the community who otherwise would not be able to afford it.  We also collect old eyeglasses to be donated back to the Lions Club.

Harper Eye Care also partners with Optometry Giving Sight.  This organization helps outside of our community working to give back to people who are needlessly blind or vision impaired.  Monies are donated quarterly for these efforts.

Outside of the office, both Dr. Harper and Overton volunteer with numerous local groups including the Kernersville Foundation, the Rotary Club of Kernersville, and First Christian Church to name a few.  Dr. Harper also volunteers her professional services free of charge in the Winston Salem Community Clinic.

In 2015, the Harpers were recognized by the NC Triad Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals as Outstanding Emerging Philanthropists.
